Beyondkey Successfully launches  ‘SAFE INVENTORY” an Android APP' delivering the Insured piece of mind

"Beyondkey has successfully completed the development & launch of "SAFE INVENTORY,” an Android APP project. This APP will be used by Insured to create Commercial and Residential Property, define floors, rooms and items in a property. Once the property and items are created, the application can be used to associate an insurance policy with the property details. The application also provides functionality for calling to submit any claims for that property.

Why you need to outsource in 2013 to be profitable.

Software development is hard, many believe that outsourcing software development is even harder but if you want to keep pace while eliminating costs find a way in 2013.

How do you start?
Answer: choose the right partner.

I understand the word "partner" can be over utilized, let me define what I mean by partner in the context of this article.

Outsource "Partner" definition:  a person or business that will gain more with your projects success.

It is as simple as that.  Now I don't mean that you can outsource and get work done without hard costs I mean that your outsource partner should be invested in your project.

Worldwide spending in offshore IT outsourcing alone is expected to be over $325 BILLION IN 2013 representing a 21% uptick from 2012 in a slow global economy.  Why?

THE BIG ADVANTAGES
  • Technically proficient: Simply better more educated, better qualified
  • Cost less: up to ten times in 2013 when compared to fully loaded employee costs
  • Save time: immediate project ramp up, no hiring training or waiting for other projects to be done
  • Fast results: beat your competitors to market and get projects done quicker by choosing a partner that knows your business
  • Fresh blood, original ideas:  highly experienced pros that have worked across verticals and  bring best-practice concepts to the table
  • Support: get support for the solution developed at a significant discount for the long-ha
What do the IT experts think:
  • 48% plan to hire more outsourced development talent vs. internal employees
  • 63% trust that the work done by outsourcers is better than work done by internal staff
Ask yourself?
  • If you are a highly talented software developer would you work as an in-house developer performing the same mundane development tasks day in and day out?
  • or would you work for a software company that performs new, exciting leading edge project every month?
The best talent is typically not within your four walls.

WITH ALL THAT SAID…I HAVE LEFT THE MOST IMPORTANT WAY TO SUCCESSFULLY OUTSOURCE IN 2013…(DRUM ROLL)
  • Always choose an offshore development partner with a strong US based project handler.  if you can benefit from everything that an offshore team provides without the SIGNIFICANT RISKS of managing an offshore team there is no bigger WIN-WIN.
Did you know only 4% of companies use strictly offshore IT outsourcing and that 55% of companies utilize both onshore and offshore IT outsourcing and a primary reasons communication, understanding and trust.

How do you choose what jobs to outsource?

In this 2nd article of our series "Growing Smart By Outsourcing, a Step-By-Step Guide," we will discuss how you select the right projects, tasks or process to outsource by utilizing a value chain analysis and decision matrix.

What to consider when selecting what you should outsource?
  • Can the activity be performed at a lower cost and/or better by suppliers?
  • What is the risk of performing the activity in-house? If the activity relies on fast-changing technology it may be advantageous to outsource the activity in order to maintain flexibility and avoid the risk of investing in specialized assets.
  • Would outsourcing improve your business process performance?
The goal of your value chain is to provide the customer more value than cost therefore providing you a solid profit margin.  Below you see Technology as part of the support activities and typically if you are not a software development company you should outsource most of your software development because you cannot possible do it as inexpensive or as effective as firms that specialize in this practice.

Everyday in our personal lives we outsource tasks or work that we can't do as well or as cheap as another.

Step 1: Identify Your Core Competencies.  What does your company do better than anyone else can?

Step 2: Utilize a Value Chain Analysis Chart to identify your core competencies and outsource the rest
  • An example may be if you are an architect and design a building, do you hire a contractor to build it?  You would be cause your vision can be delivered quicker and less expensive.
  • These questions, and the answers can have huge effects on your organization's short-term and long-term success.
  • Outsourcing can bring fresh minds to your business, and it can also free time up for innovation and other vital tasks.
Step 3: Utilize a decision matrix
  • The Outsourcing Decision Matrix helps you consider two important factors in outsourcing a task:

Select the  “Low-Hanging Fruit” to Outsource First

Once you’ve determined the processes and services within your company that make up your core competencies you can then prioritize the left over tasks for outsourcing.
If you don’t think your company or organization has any non-core business processes your fooling yourself.  Our company specializes in developing enterprise level software applications for other technology companies so if they can outsource software development I am fairly certain that an insurance carrier; product manufacturer or distributor can as well.

In your search for your non-core business processes, pay particular attention to the following:
  • Those activities that are repetitious
  • Those activities that are ongoing
  • Those things you know you’re not good at executing
Dos and Don'ts for Deciding Whether to Outsource
Do
  • Have a clear vision of what outsourcing should achieve.
  • Understand the scope of the services to be outsourced.
  • Outsource the performance of a function, not the responsibility for it.
Don't
  • Don't outsource strategic, customer, or financial management.
  • Don't let the goal of cost savings dominate everything else.
  • Don't think that outsourcing is the answer to every problem.

5 Tech Trends You Can't Afford To Ignore - INC. Repost

Valley was aflutter this week with Mary Meeker's bold new report on Internet trends. Here's what you missed.

When Mary Meeker speaks, the Valley listens. This week, Meeker, a general partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (the venture firm founded in 1972 that's invested in pretty much every major tech company of the last quarter century) unveiled her 88-page analysis of Web, mobile, technology, and societal trends. Here, we've excerpted the most important elements of the report, especially trends that may affect small business and startups.

1) You should care about China. And India. And Indonesia.

Emerging markets have always played a key role in expansion, but the Internet has magnified this principle. Here, Meeker outlines the role of international Internet adoption. As you can see, it's huge. From 2008 to 2012, China added 282 million Internet users, bringing their total number of users close to double the population of the United States.

2) Your mobile strategy may be the most important part of your business.
In 2008, only about $0.7 billion was made on mobile. By the end of 2012, the mobile market will have ballooned to a staggering $19 billion, split 67 percent between apps and 33 percent ads. According to Meeker, when looking at the average time users spend on on media, people spend about ten percent of their "media time" on mobile--but just 1 percent of ad spend is spent on mobile. In other words, despite current user adoption, there's still plenty of room for growth. Another fact to note: In India, mobile Internet traffic surpassed desktop Internet traffic in May, 2012.

3) Don't forget about Android users.

Meeker is bullish on Android as a platform. According to her calculations, iPhone adoption has exploded in the last four years, but Android phone adoption "has ramped even faster – nearly 6x iPhone."

4) If you sell a product, you'd be crazy not to focus your e-commerce on mobile and tablet apps.

This chart pretty much speaks for itself: By 2012, about a quarter of all Internet shopping traffic on Black Friday were made on either mobile or a tablet.

5) Tech start-ups are leading the charge.
Meeker has a lengthy section "reimagining" what the world will look like--going from desktops to tablets, cash to cashless, maps to navigation systems, etc. Of course, like any good venture capitalist, Meeker found a way here to plug a few of Kleiner's portfolio companies, including Gumroad (e-payments), Quirky (product design), Evernote (note taking), DocuSign (electronic signatures), and Square (mobile payments).
